My name is Colleen Foreman and I am your administrative coordinator. I have worked in the child care field since 1999 and has been administrative coordinator at the association since 2008. Although I have only work with the association for a short time, I have volunteered with ECCENB for a long time. I sat as region three president for two years prior to coming to work at the office, I enjoyed that position very much and was sad to have to resign, but good things were yet to come! Originally from Sussex, NB I now live in Oromocoto with my husband and two sons. | Administrative Coordinator - Kilby Adams-McFarlane | | | My name is Kilby Adams-McFarlane and I am new to ECCENB/SEPENB as of May 2011. I am extremely excited about this new venture. Recently, I have been working as a Teacher at the high school level, primarily in English related courses. Previous to teaching I was involved as a Research Assistant at the University of New Brunswick Early Childhood Centre contributing to the research and discovery of the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework. I also had the opportunity to work in the accounting department of New Brunswick East Coast Railway. I am very much looking forward to stepping in as Administrative Coordinator and being part of such a great association as ECCENB/SEPENB. My husband and I currently reside in Fredericton with our 1 ½ year old daughter and our 2 year old dog Marley! | Curriculum Reimbursement Coordinator - Karen Rice | | | My name is Karen Rice and I am the coordinator for the Curriculum Training Wage Reimbursement Program. Prior to my coming to ECCENB, I worked with Opening the Door to Quality Childcare and Development, hosted by the New Brunswick Association for Community Living for five years. This position, while admnistrative, enabled me to become aware of the many challenges and changes taking place in child care in New Brunswick. I have been with ECCENB for almost two years in this part-time position and am now involved with Phase Two of the reimbursement program. I also assist with the coordination and registration of the professional learning workshops. I can be reached at the office Tuesday to Thursday. | Certification Project Manager - Angela Scott | | | "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has”. Margaret Mead, anthropologist Working towards social inclusion has been a goal for me since I was eight years old! Since that time I have held offices, participated in projects, sat on provincial boards, all for the purpose of ensuring that individuals are able to pursue their dreams and goals. While volunteering is important and is likely to fulfill a large part of our social policy in the future, I believed I could do more. In 2006 I made a decision to change my life direction; left a secure career behind, augmented my computer and French skills, and graduated from NBCC-Woodstock in 2008, and the University of New Brunswick in 2010 with a Bachelor of Integrated Studies Degree. I concentrated in sociology, business/public relations & leadership/education. It was an opportunity to complete my education which began in the Bachelor of Public Relations Program at Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax, NS. Along with family, community, and my pursuit of a Master degree, I am part of an operational farm and live with my husband, Peter, in Debec, NB. In the summer and fall I am proud to support our family in the hay, grain, and potato fields, chase errant cows when necessary, and avoid cleaning eggs as often as possible. Rural New Brunswick life also allows me to enjoy singing in our church choir, reading, and spending time with our family pets. As the Certification Project Manager I support a phenomenal group of hard working, early childhood educators who strive to provide the best and safest level of care and education possible, for every child and family in New Brunswick. By implementing educational and experiential standards through self-directed lifelong learning, development of Professional Educator Portfolios and self-assessment tools all citizens of New Brunswick will acknowledge that early childhood educators are integral to our province's sustainability and more importantly-fundamental to living quality lives with our families, anywhere in the province, where every child matters. | Professional Learning Coordinator - Elizabeth Pitcher | | | Elizabeth is a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax, and the Canadian Cooperative for Language & Cultural Studies, Toronto. She has thoroughly enjoyed being a homestay host to over 20 university students from around the world. Volunteer work has included Big Sisters of Toronto and the Toronto Women's Shelter. As Professional Learning Coordinator, Elizabeth is committed to supporting the early learning and child care sector by providing ongoing quality learning opportunities and resources to sustain the NB curricula.
